The Ethereum Name Service (ENS) has decided to abandon its plans for the Namechain Layer 2 solution, attributing the decision to a 99% decrease in gas fees and the anticipated scaling improvements on Ethereum. Instead, the project will focus on deploying its ENSv2 upgrade directly on the Ethereum network.
